Bronze plaque of a man (possibly Xiongnu) from Troitskovavsk

"201 BCE: The territories held by Xiongnu at this stage according to some accounts were much larger than areas held by Han during the latter's zenith, however the population of Han at its peak has been estimated to be around 55 million, while the total population of Xiongnu was probably shy of 1.5 million."

Bronze plaque of a man (possibly Xiongnu) from Troitskovavsk. Image from Otto J. Maenchen-Helfen's book "The World of the Huns". Otto notes that this man appears very similar to the Xiongnu in the state at the 'Tomb of Huo Qubing'. That image is also on my blog, see "horse trampling a Xiongnu warrior".
