Haibao Pagoda Temple 5th C. CE
The Haibao Pagoda may have been created by the Xiongnu Chanyu, Helian Bobo. Transoxiana states this is the oldest pagoda in China and was created by the Hun Emperor, Helian Bobo. Chinese websites I looked at also credit Helian Bobo, but only with rebuilding the pagoda. Wikipedia links to a Chinese book that says local county annals of the area credit Helian with restoration, yet also lists the building date as between 420-581 CE. Helian died in 425 CE. It seems odd the building would have been created by someone else, destroyed, and then rebuilt in a five year period, only to earn Helian Bobo with the title of "restorer". So Helian might be credited with the construction. China(dot)org(dot)cn states this "is the oldest architectural structure in Ningxia with a history of over 1,500 years" and also states it is alternatively called Hebao Tower because of its association with Helian Bobo.
